Where to Burn Bodies: The Morgue's Crematorium

Take the corpse to the Crematorium in the Morgue. Check its unlock in the Anatomy and alchemy branch of the technology tree, then use the Morgue's construction interface for the available station and its listed requirements. Cremating a body produces Ash and Salt. If you came here looking for an outdoor wooden pyre, use the Morgue station instead: that is the body-burning route in Graveyard Keeper 2.

Crematorium Location and Unlock Path

Start in the Morgue, where you handle incoming corpses. Open the technology tree and locate the early Crematorium unlock under Anatomy and alchemy. If the station is not available in the build interface, inspect the technology requirement before spending materials on unrelated cemetery structures.

Use the construction panel's material list for the station available in your save. Once it is ready, bring the body to the Crematorium and use its interaction to load it. Inspect the station's state before moving on, then collect the products when the process finishes.

Test the workflow with one body before planning a large batch. This lets you confirm the station is usable, see its progress, and identify where the resulting materials appear. Keep the route to the machine clear so you can return for the output and the next corpse.

1. Check the Crematorium unlock in Anatomy and alchemy.
2. Open the Morgue construction interface and meet the listed station requirements.
3. Carry the chosen corpse to the Crematorium and load it through the station interaction.
4. Check the process and collect the Ash and Salt when it finishes.

Collect Ash and Salt for Later Crafting

The Crematorium turns a body into materials you can keep for later use. Collect Ash and Salt rather than treating the completed burn as a reason to leave the machine unattended. Inspect the output in your own build when deciding how many bodies you need; this guide does not assume one fixed yield or sale price for every upgrade and perk.

Ash has a role in alchemy. For example, the later Reanimation Liquid progression uses researched ingredients at the laboratory, so gathering Ash and learning its properties are separate tasks. Check the recipe's technology and research requirements before expecting a stack of raw materials to become a usable potion.

Choose Bodies Before Cremating Them

Decide what you want from a body before loading it into the Crematorium. Burning is a disposal choice, so keep any body you intend to use for another purpose out of the queue. Separate bodies reserved for burial or future resurrection from the ones you have chosen to process for Ash.

If your next goal is a zombie worker, use the resurrection checklist before changing or disposing of the body. Zombie preparation has its own body, collar, and liquid requirements. Do not apply a blanket rule that every body with red skulls should be burned, or remove organs automatically just because you are clearing space in the Morgue.

Crematorium Not Working or Body Stuck?

Check the station's unlock and interaction state, then confirm the patch installed on your platform. PC update 1.005 addressed a bug where a corpse could get stuck on the Crematorium and leave it unusable. An old report of that problem is not evidence that you need a different fuel recipe or must immediately restart your save.

If the same problem continues on an updated build, record the platform, game version, and the action that stopped working before checking current bug reports. Preserve your save while investigating. A missing unlock, an unfinished construction, and an unresponsive loaded station are different problems; identify which one you have before rebuilding anything.
